Your building certifier appoints a competent person to inspect a particular aspect of the work and certify it against the approved plans. Where that aspect is boundary clearance for a single detached Class 1a house, the official form requires a cadastral surveyor appointed by the certifier. This service covers aspects a survey can measure, such as where a new house, garage or carport sits in relation to the boundary.
